If you have a Pegasus32 series (R4/R6/R8), or are thinking of buying a Pegasus32 and would like to use it with your new Mac Pro (2019) for additional storage. This guide will allow you to use the Pegasus32 as a stand alone storage or to use (as we will demonstrate with an Pegasus R4) in conjuction with the Pegasus R4i for even greater read and write speeds, than a stand alone Pegasus R4i.

How to setup and install the Pegasus32 R4 to a Mac Pro (2019):

Jan 22, 2014 Promise Pegasus and Vtrak can stretch the array and the logical drive out to cover larger drives, once all the drives in the array are replaced with new drives and allowed to rebuild before changing the next drive down; that's called Data Migration and is available within the graphic utility or the command line interface, please check your. Mar 07, 2017 I took it out of the Pegasus R4 case, put it into an external USB drive enclosure, reformatted it from my Mac, took it out of the external drive enclosure and put it back into the Pegasus R4 case. Note: I was too nervous to try reformatting that physical drive with the Promise Utility while it was still inside of the R4 case. In a few hours the Pegasus will totally rebuild that blown drives information. This of course happens while the drive array is STILL IN USE, which is great for a network or a computer that must be running at all times. The Pegasus arrives formatted and configured in a RAID 5 array, but you may change that to RAID 1, 2, 6, or 10 if you wish. The Pegasus RAID from Promise Technology comes in two basic configurations, the R4 and the R6. The R4 has four drive bays and the R6 has 6 bays. With the R4 and R6 you have the option of having 1 TB drives or 2 TB SATA drives, for a total of 4 different price and storage options.
